New Lawn-Very Soft-What To Do

Hi, I dug out my back lawn last summer and replaced the bad clay with good clay to 200mm. I seeded it, cross raked and lightly rolled with a water filled garden roller.

However the lawn has come on well but is extremely soft to walk or step on. Should I use a heavier roller or similar?

I've been thinking of filling the roller with concrete. Any ideas? thanks

I am not an expert on lawns, but at this time of year with the ground so soft and on a new lawn I doubt you should be even walking on it?

Its been soft since the day I rolled it. Thought it might just need to settle.
Spent time hoping to do it right- dug the whole lot out, 8 inches of good clay, seeded, raked, stones out, rolled and kept well watered

There is a thread about this problem here http://www.gardenbanter.co.uk/showthread.php?p=774641
I would be inclined to leave it for a while, but as I say, I don't know much about lawns.
