Just looking for a bit of advice or help on what to expect here.

I'm 24 and living at home and have been on JSB for the last year. When I originally applied I wasn't entitled to JSB but after 3 months waiting I was means tested for JSA I was given the full 204/JSB rate. I received a letter today saying that it expires "soon".

I received an application form to apply now for JSA and am going to send drop it in when I get the salary certs for my parents and mortgage payments. Nothing much has changed in circumstance since last year, my mum is still self employed and the shop isn't profitable to take a wage yet, and my dad's wage is more or less the same (he's a mortgage broker so at the moment it's not a big wage). The mortgage repayments are more or less the same also.

A couple of questions I have from this, which I would really appreciate any help with.

    1. Roughly how long is "soon" for my dole to expire? (I will obviously check up on this, but any boardsies experience would help)

    2. Does anyone have a rough idea of the transition time between by dole expiring "soon" and being set up on JSA to receive money (as I pay roughly 1/2 of my JSB to my parents for living at home? Will I be waiting months like I was first time around without any benefit being collectable?

    3. Seeing as circumstances haven't changed much, will my allowance drop that much (as I am moving from JSB to JSA the recent under 25s cuts do not apply to me)

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    M.
