I was just wondering which test centre is better Dundalk or Monaghan? I did my test in Dundalk and I failed.:( I'll apply again this summer but I was considering doing it in Monaghan Town cause I heard its easier to do there. Is that true?

Do it in an area you know. What you failed for in Dundalk you would fail for in Monaghan or Cork or anywhere for that matter. Knowing the test route is a big help on the day but your driving skill matters more.

I found Dundalk good I went a route I was never on before. When I applied I put down I couldnt do it on a Friday because I thought the roads would be busy.

I'd also try to avoid doing it when schools are coming out

The Dundalk test route is fairly ok. One advantage is that Dundalk is really flat. The only large hill start I can think of is the infamous Hill Street Bridge, but it's not even difficult.

I'd imagine the wait for Monaghan mightn't be as long as Dundalk though, remember that Dundalk has to cater for Dundalk and Drogheda (two very large towns!).

But to be honest, the location doesn't have much to do with whether you will past or not. If you can drive competently, you can drive anywhere. Similarly if you can reverse around one corner, you can reverse around them all. Having said that, I would recommend taking lessons with an ADI from the area so you get used to local conditions etc.

i was having second thoughts also before if i should take the test in dundalk or navan (didn't know anything about them before, i live in drogheda) but a friend of mine said that the roads in dundalk are actually ok and navan not so much. i took a few lessons there and found out that the roads there are better than in drogheda. it was much easier to drive around.
