ESPN HD + Audio dropout

Now and again, I experience short (maybe 30 seconds) audio dropouts while watching ESPN HD. My receiver confirms this when the DD light goes out. No trouble on any other HD channel.

Has anyone else encountered anything similar?

I "saw" (heard?) it once, last night. Sound cut out, and could see the audio-channel lights go out on my amplifier. Just the once though.

Its happened me a couple of times too on ESPN HD. Changing channel temporarily does not make a difference. Anyone here from UPC that can comment on this or even raise it as an issue?

It's happened to me a couple of times since. Sometimes the audio goes, at others there's a 'thumping' sound (like someone tapping a microphone).

Turning the UPC box off and on again does seem to solve it - or at least, it's gone by the time the box comes on again.

Happens to me too, usually once or twice if I'm watching an entire match on ESPN HD without changing channel. Odd one, glad to know it's nothing specific to my UPC box.

Yes it happens all the time with me and I'm with Sky.

Does it happen when the STB is connected via an AV receiver or via the TV? If it's the TV, is it through HDMI? And if it is through the AV receiver, is it via the analogue audio outputs, the optical audio or the HDMI connector?

I can add my voice to this and I am not connected, yet, to a AV receiver. Very annoying
