India Multiple Entry Visa Question

    Hi Folks,

I'm in doing RTW trip and I'm currently in India. I was issued with a Multiple entry visa in Dublin on the 4th of December .

a few weeks ago I decided to book a trek in Nepal. I booked a flight in India and plan to return to Delhi overland. I then fly from Delhi on the 7th of April.

I thought I had everything planned until I was told today that the Indians have changed the rules for multiple entry visas and now require tourists to stay away for at least 2 months before retuning to India. I'm screwed if this is the case and I paid the fee (non refundable for trekking in Nepal).

I checked the small print of my VISA and it does not say anything about this rule.

Does anybody have any suggestions on this? I called the Indian embassy in Dublin but I just get a voice mail.

    I'm very worried about this!

    Thanks.

Perhaps this applies to people doing visa-runs, leaving and coming back on new visas?

hmm a quick google does reveal quite a bit of confusion surrounding this...

apparently you can get a waiver although i'm not sure how. keep trying that embassy number!

I heard about this but I thought it was only if your visa ran out and then you wanted to go back in. I'd say you should call or drop into the Irish embassy in India. They have to know.

Maybe try ringing the embassy in London. With the large Indian population in the UK, it's probably much better staffed and easier to get through to a human being than it is in the embassy here.
