Hi there

Lately my car has been making an un usual noise when I switch off the air conditioning in the car. I can hear a noise that sounds like a running fan motor from underneath the glove compartment of passengers side.It gets actually louder when you switch engine on and only occurs when I switch off air conditioning. It goes away if i turn air conditioning back on or If I hit a bump or a pothole in the road. Anyone know what it could be?

car is an Audi A4 SE (2000 model) 1.9 TDI
