I run & Wednesdays at the Twisted Pepper, we are very much a house/electro night. Our emphasis is very much on quality electro/house and bringing in the best DJs Dublin has to offer.

We play it loud in the basement and in the Mezz we mix it up every week from Jazz to Ska to Indie to hip hop alnong with art exhibits, candyfloss and visuals

We also run lil things round the city for fun, this week its an NCAD art installation and flashmob

In the next few weeks we'll be hosting two major international acts as well as Dublin's finest.

Its always cheaplist for Boardsies so PM me!!:D

yeah the twisted pepper is good. its one of the only places that consistant. ive tended to stay away from crawdaddy in the last while, too many pretencious d4 heads ruining the place, same thing sort of happening to wax...

is there any good underground places that play proper house? when i was in berlin i ended up going to all these mad grimey places in old warehouses and stuff and it was savage with animal tunes. the way techno should be lived. stuff like that hasnt really cought on over here, everything seems to be so comercial and the likes. am i right or am i just completley out of the loop?

You're right. Licensing laws are so strict that the only way to run one of those kinds of nights is to have a house party type thing somewhere far enough away that neighbours won't complain, and have it in a barn or marquee so you don't trash your house. Friends of mine have done that.

Basement of the Twisted Pepper is the closest you'll get to Berlin here though :(

I don't think there has been any weekly electro night since Electric City finished.

    The answer is: none.

Every single one of the abovementioned club nights are 90 per cent populated by smug college small frys and girls wearing nerd glasses, are run by spotty geeks with delusions of grandeur and smell like the bottom of a cove.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Come over to mine:D

Your only hope would be if they had an electro-house equivalent of those novelty boogie nights for nostalgic middle-aged people. You're about 5 years late, man.

There was this a few weeks back https://www.facebook.com/events/269825479858566/ but in general I don't think there's a regular electro night.

Keep an eye on local resident nights and you might catch something. Electro does seem to be making a bit of a comeback of late
