Switching college next year

I'm a first year and currently considering dropping out of my course to do a different course in another college next year.

Does anyone here know what the situation is regarding fees?

I've heard somewhere that I have to pay for this years tuition fees but once that's done (assuming fees don't come in universally) I don't have to pay anything out of the ordinary?

    Thanks

Yes, I think you've got it right.

You'll have to pay for the first year of your next course because you're only entitled to 'free tuition' once.

Possible exceptions might be moving from a degree course to a diploma course or vice-versa but I'm not certain about the details.

hi, i dropped out in semester 1 of 2009 to go back this september 2010 because i dropped out in semester 1 i am eligible for half the fees when i go back in september but after that the free fees scheme kicks in again, so for you you will be eligible for full fees for first year but after 1st year the free fees scheme will kick in again. best of luck!

Ya thats only the registration fee which varys between colleges I think. Most courses( in ul anyway) cost around 6000 euro a year but you dont have to pay it because of the free fees scheme.
