Any ideas if it would be better to get attic insulation from the Likes of B&Q or Chadwicks for a self install ? Price is important as well as quality. Will be laying floorboards over it also.

Check prices in T J OMahony in ballymount, they were doing agood offer on loft insulation and flooring about a week ago, id say its still on. they have a good section with green energy, insulation etc.

Thanks AJ, Priced them up, they're more expensive than B&Q at the moment

If you can, check if the resin used to bond the glass/ rockwool strands together is a polyester resin. Polyester bonded insulation will outlast any other polymer resins, for the full life of the building. Some wool insulations can break down over time into dust. Not sure if they are all polyester based nowadays but I will be asking the question when Im buying my lot.
