Hi, I have insurance on two cars with no claims of two years on both. Recently i've had a little tip into another car and let the insurance company pay it. Will both my insurance no claims be reset to zero now? Nearly positive is yes just want to make sure.

    I'm no expert but...

no only the policy you claimed on should lose its NCB, the other one should be fine.

Are both policies with the same company?

You may have to acknowledge that you have had a claim even on the non affected policy.

Im sure they dont allow someone to use any build up no claims bonus on 2 policy at the same time so I cant see how they can then steal the no claims bonus off both. Only the policy concerned Id say.

They're 2 separate independent policies, a claim on one won't effect the other. I have 3 cars insured on separate policies, one a classic car policy that doesn't need or earn any no claims bonus, one a classic policy that does earn a NCB and gets a discount as a result, and one normal car policy that earns a NCB and discount. I had this discussion with my broker only last week. You earn a single NCB per policy and it can only be used against one policy when renewing.

You will have a ncb on one policy but your renewal will go up on both. Your base rate will increase, then have the ncb discount applied.
