    Hi all

Story is bought a 2000 almera at the end NOV 2009. Was bought from a local car dealship. He gaurenteed it would pass nct which he booked for us. It passed.

Im convinced he paid off nct. The tracking on car seems to need doing as any time any sort of speed is done wheel shakes like mad. The two front doors were dropping slightly not aligned properly and the car keeps shuddering as though not in right gear.

Then lock went in door we had to pay 100 euro to fix it. He fixed the alignment of doors he looking for 75 for that. He then sent it to nissan to check why shuddering says they said it was timing something (I cant remeber what it was called), says he will fix under gaurentee.

Now to top it off ive just noticed that when i start the car i can take keys out and still drive with no key in.

Please advise me here I know feck all about cars and have a bad feeling about this. Thanks for reading.

The wheels just need balancing, not tracking. Slight wheel imbalance won't fail the NCT. €5 per wheel job.

These cars can suffer from crankshaft sensor problems and stretched timing chains.

Maybe some dodgy repair job? I've heard of some of these having immobiliser problems, but I thought that was only 2003 onwards.

Maybe you could use some punctuation and paragraphs in your future posts. I just gave up trying to read after a few sentences lines.

The ignition barrel is fecked, combined with door lock giving trouble, anyone smell stolen recovered ? Probably not as the Almera has the immobiliser, still, bit of a coincidense.

To be honest, those dont seem like overly huge problems on a car such as a 00 almera. The shake at speed is surely wheel balancing which wouldnt be checked by NCT.
Being able to take the key out is odd but its a cheap car, I wouldnt be overly worried as long as it keeps running. At least the dealer is fixing the running problem which can be pricy enough.

Almera door locks are common enough to need replacing.
