Hi, running the c25k programme, and I'd like to be able to keep tabs on my speed and distance. Torn between the garmin forerunner 305 and 405.
I have read reports that the software that comes with both is rubbish, and may not even be mac compatable. Is this true?
I also heard that (highly rated) SportTracks is mac compatable.
This is rather inconvenient as I only have a Mac.
Also, how important is a HRM for a beginner like myself?

    Zak.

Both are mac compatible. Have a mac myself and have had no problems. The garmin training centre is rubbish but the online garmin connect site is pretty good. I'd get the HRM I don't think it costs much extra (maybe 20 euro) and it's handy to have if you get a little more serious.

Oh great, I didn't realise that.
I checked out the Garmin Connect site and it looks like it could be pretty good.
Failing that, there's always Trailrunner or Ascent.

If it's only and extra €20, I'll go for the HRM also.
    Thanks Roadrunner.

I wonder when the 505 is out???!!!
