    First time posting,
I have been working for a well know fast-food company for 6+ months and have not received a contract yet but a fellow worker who is leaving was made sign one before leaving!
On this contract it said that the employer didn't have to pay anything extra for Sundays, bank holidays or overtime.

I work often after 12(midnight) for 20-30 minutes but only get paid for up to 12. I do jobs that i believe i shouldn't have to at my pay level. ie Stocktaking, food and drinks ordering and jobs done by mangers in other stores.

Some of ye might ask me,why now working for him for 6+ months. I thought that seening that it was a new business that in time things will improve but i see that this is not going to happen. My hours are go from 40+ one week to a low this week of 21. I am not a bad worker and often have been ask for advice by the owner and have had to train 2 others at work.

What can i do to improve the situation bar leaving?

You are being abused. Your employer will continue to abuse you until you ask for a contract stating your Terms and Conditions of employment.

Under common practice you should get a contract within your first week.

If you do not like the terms of your contract say so and why.

    No Contract = No rights

Asked twice for one. He fobs me off with excuses and after hearing whats on it, i don't think i would sign it. It must break a few laws or at least remove some of my rights?

drop a line to NERA that will sort him out. They are currently on the war path for situations like this

Even if you are not a union member SIPTU in Liberty Hall will give you free advice on your rights.
Do not allow your boss to get away with this.

Everyone has rights. Without a contract you just have to fight harder for them.
