My screen froze with the time on it so I pressed the buttons to reset it. The screen went blank but dont know if I released the buttons in the wrong order or what but the screen has stayed blank and I have tried almost everythign to get it going again. I am doing a marathon at the weekend and have got used to it since I got it mid january.
Is there a battery I could take out in the watch unit and might this help Dont know what else to try.
    HHHHHHHHHHHEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPP:confused:

Do a 'soft-reset' but hold in the bottons for longer than the 5secs suggested in the manual, maybe 15 or 20secs and see if this works.

I have held it for up to 3 minutes.,What happens about 30 seconds is that I get a line across the screen and if I release either or both of the buttons it goes away. Then there is a beep.Nothing further happens then.

This is the process for a 'master reset'. But this will erase all your saved data. Its the only other process I know for this 405 issue.
Press and hold the Start/Stop and Lap/Reset buttons simultaneously Keep both buttons pressed for 8 seconds or until the screen goes blank Then release the Start/Stop button and continue to hold the Lap/Reset button for an additional 3 seconds Release the Lap/Reset button
Select the Enter (Start/Stop) button to clear user data Once these steps are complete, follow the setup prompts. Set profile options and charge the battery completely before using.

Thats what is says on the manual too, but it doesnt work. Thats why I am trying to find out if anyone else has had the same problem and did they find a solution. I reckon it might have to go back to the US for hospitalization
