Damn you photobucket I had these thumbnails and pics
all the correct orientation and somehow it does not like the way I want to display them.

For those who may be deciding to buy either a
P226 or P229 and cant make up their mind
I've a few pics so you can look at the differences.
I personally prefer the P226 but had to have both.

The KJW P226 was one of the first pistols I ever bought
when it came to airsoft. I could not believe my eyes
when it was posted from england to me at the time,
and there was no customs issues. To date its one of my
favourite pistols having had the chance to compare both
the real steel and airsoft versions side by side and being
very impressed with the airsoft version.

Since I had the P226 I had been putting off buying the smaller P229 for years,
until one evening on a cold dark night,
a airsoft travelling sales man appeared at my door with a van of goodies and I made an impulse buy.
(I think the P226 model may be older)

Out if interest I said I would post a few pics on how they
    look side by side.

I dont know the release data of either of the Models
but the P226 has a superior feel of quality to it.
Racking the slide feels a bit better,
    The Grips feel stronger,
But unlike the P229 it does not have Trads.

The Magazines are slightly different so you cant stick your P226 mag into your P229
(Well you can but it wont look right.)

Internally they look almost the same.

The Slide Grip patterns are different as you can see,
the P226 and they type of screws used on the pistol grip
are also different. The Trads are Horrific White on the P229
I hate the way airsoft gun producers do this. If your gonna put trads on a gun,
Stamp em and leave that "Sh1te white"
as I like to call it off of the gun, Unless its there on the real steel.

    I have both the P226, and the P229. There's only a few differences that i've seen/noticed;
    - P229's grip is fatter, but also feels a little more 'snug'
    - P226 has a longer barrel
    - Both of mine have trades, both made by KJW (and gotten in HobbyAirsoft in case you're wondering where to get 'em)
    - If I remember correctly, I think the p226 mag takes 1 or 2 extra BBs, but I can't remember counting them out. It's just something I think I remember noting when test firing.

Both feel great, look great and perform. I'd recommend either to anyone

I'm guessing that these guns use green gas. Is it possible to get co2 mags also? My understanding is that green gas is a problem at low temperatures so wondering what happens during winter etc.

    Cheers,
    Tom

If it's a KJW pistol then it's probably that a CO2 version exists alright - whether or not the model you have will take CO2 though is a whole other issue.

I'm looking for a co2 + gas pistol and I really like the feel of the sigs. Not sure if models, other than KJW, make dual versions. If not sgi 226 or 229 any recommendations for another dual pistol. Not a fan of the 1911 styles.
