legal status of man wanted for questioning...

    Just a little information needed...

If the only suspect and man wanted for questioning over a serious crime escapes fro the jurisdiction, leaves the country, would the garda station which originally had dealt with the case still have that information readily accessible after ten years?

And regarding the legal status this man would have in another country... could the local police there question him or would they be basically powerless to intervene since he was never actually arrested nor charged?

I'm curious as to know whether I could do anything if I happened to bump into him one day! A citizen's arrest may be out of the question (even under this country's citizen's arrest laws) since he was never charged, right?

Any thoughts and info will be appreciated!

If he committed an offence in another country he can only be arrested for that offence on foot of a european arrest warrant.

Wasn't there a situation like this a few years ago, Where a woman tracked down a man that was involved in a serious hit and run and got a garda to arrest him in spain.

Do what you can here in ireland and when you have the warrants etc then you can use any means to track him down. Private detectives that use tracking techniques can be useful.

Then when you have him send the cops in with the warrant. Other than that a bounty hunter. I would do it for a few grand if your stuck, I have few qualifications in the security industry and would be able to get him in a headlock.

Seriously though OP, a good lawyer would be able to answer your question, or if you knew a Gard to ask casually in his/her spare time.

There's no charge or warrant: He's not obliged to answer any questions anyway, afaik.
