DO YOU HAVE any pics of the car.
its only a year away from classic as far as Insurance companies are concerned.

Would you credit me with not finding out, only talked to the guy for 2-3 mins but I would guess it is based on it being 2.9 as far as I can tell its the 2lt ones that have the bog standard engine.

I'm afraid not. There's 11 years left until the car is old enough (30 years) to qualify for classic motor tax. The Granada 2.9 is actually a bit over 2.9 litres, so the motor tax per year is €1,293. 11 times €1,293 equals €14,223

The 2.9 was available in the Cologne and Cosworth version. The two engines shared the same bottom end and displacement. The differences were that the normal 2.9 was a 12 valve pushrods engine dating back to the '70's. The BOA/BOB Cosworth was a typically Cosworth multi-valve conversion of the 2.9 block. The differences are easy to spot under the bonnet. There's a whopping cosworth badge on the engine, and a small Cosworth badge on the back.

not really the case is it thouigh. If anyone planned keeping it for 11 years , they would probably lay it up for 6 or 9 months per year to conserve it. More likely use would be as an engine donor at this strage:(
