Whats the max weight permitted on a single axle trailer?

    Theres an individual not too far from me that is using a single axle "car transporter" to carry something the equivalent weight a Ford Focus. Is this permissible?

    Probably not, but it would depend on the construction of the thing.

    There are 15 ton slurry tankers out there with just one axle ...but I assume that they have had some testing and approval done and may even carry a manufacturers plate somwhere.

    No, totally unbraked, its a "home made" or "cow boy" job which caught my attention, It was also "modified" to carry a particular vehicle.

    I am surprised that there is no legislation on trailers here, in Australia a trailer must be registered and go through the equivalent of an NCT every year.

    IFor Williams and Brian James are a league on their own.

    There is for HGV trailers and it took the UK police to tell us it doesn't work.

    I can just imagine the chaos of getting all the domestic trailers tested if we still haven't managed to get all the cars that are required to be tested done and the DOE is a joke.
