Branch 309 used to do free shipping on all orders, now £2.95. Heading in the wrong way unfortunately.

In fairness ,I don't know how they are still in business. A few times I bought shoes for about a tenner with free delivery. I'm sure the postage alone was about that.

had a few cat boots over the years, the soles always failed, usually cracked.
kept bringing them back to be replaced.
i dont think they are of good quality

True enough and I don't begrudge them the P&P of £2.95 but I hope it's not a stepping stone in the wrong direction. Their parent Schuh offer good value at €5 delivery for up to 10 pairs on their ebay site so i suppose they aren't really taking the piss.

Am pretty sure delivery was only free on their Ebay store.. it's always cost to deliver to Ireland from their own website..

EDIT: Might buy these. Wish they were a bit darker, and I'm in between sizes of shoes - range between 9 and 10 depending on shoe. Might try on a pair at lunch in town tomorrow and buy them then!

Ordered a pair last night. Couldn't get UK removed from site, so emailed them to say it was destined for ROI. Got a reply earlier today, to say it was sorted.

Didn't expect a reply til tomorrow, so fair play. Look forward to a cheap pair of Cats! Means I can now use my old ones for work.

If it helps, I normally take a 9 in shoes but take an 8 in these. So a size smaller maybe.

Cheers ronaneire... but if I'm spending €60, I'd rather be sure!

Gotta take a dash into town at lunch so hopefully they'll still have my size when I get back.

No they were defo free, used them a good few times.

Themselves and Schuh still one of the best bargain footware sites around.

pity they only go up to 12... only 3 items at size 13

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,195 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Was in a shoe shop today.. and I tried on a Cat boot in size 8 (too tight) and size 10 (too loose).. so by process of elimination, I ordered a... yep, you guessed it, a 14!

    Cheers OP!

    you mean a 9 ?
dont get my hopes up like that :)

Great site OP. Just ordered a Ted Baker pair that would normally be €130/€150 for £40!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,879 ✭✭✭jeffk

Are these long lasting? I see people talking about cracking soles and one of the lads told me the soles get mad stiff after a while.

Ive always wanted a pair but just went for a cheap tylers pair and got 7 years almost outta them. Like id only wear them on a night out etc

Cheers in advance, I just wanna make sure before i order them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,340 CMod ✭✭✭✭Davy

My last pair, similar to these, are about 3 years old and still fine to me. When i use them, after not wearing them for awhile, i also find them for comfortable than runners

Got these this morning... very happy with them.

    Cheers Davy!

    I ordered the following:

    http://www2.branch309.co.uk/basket.asp?del_option=&source=&i_code=6201647020&basket_message_nostock=&basket_message_quantity=

This company had the cheek to send me the boots in a clearly second hand condition:

    (i) The polish on the leather was faded in patches;
    (ii) The leather itself had the first signs of being broken in as it was starting to form a crease;
(iii) The soles of both boots had grit in them.
(iv) The thread around the soles had been stained in parts from drink or something else.

How someone could consciously stuff the boots with the original packaging paper, dump the tag loose in the (battered) box and pass them off as new when they had clearly been taken out for a joyride in some town is beyond me!

The link you posted does not show any shoes. I find it hard to believe they would send you a pair of 2nd hand shoes/boots.
Mine arrived today, cheers Davy, and they are brand spankers. I'd imagine the other people who ordered recieved new ones also.
    BTW welcome to borads ;)

You are well within your rights to return them for a full refund. You should get onto them and let them know that your not happy and wee what they will offer, but you have (7 or 14, days cant remember exactly) to return them for your money back

Found out that mine were returned to sender because, apparently, Parcelforce don't deliver to ROI (I know they do indirectly, through a subcontract).

Anyway, should have them next week.
