BDO 6 Nations Tournament in Sligo.

    The BDO 6 Nations tourrnament takes place this weekend in the Southern Hotel Sligo with Ireland,Northern Ireland,England,Scotland,Wales and Holland taking part but if you were to look for information on the BDO website you would be wasting your time,not 1 mention of it! Again the BDO is lagging way behind in terms of media and promotion of the sport,the players deserve better. I presume this tournament is still taking place?

    Sure even our own crowd should be doing something to promote this, what is wrong with this crowd is it paranoia or something? Everything is so hush hush with their events.

    Ireland were beaten 13-5 against Scotland with Connie Finnan and McCloskey winning all 5 legs between them. Finnan with and average of 98. 3 of our players averaging under 70.

    2nd game saw them beaten 13-10 by England, this time much better all around. McCloskey clocking in just over 90 and only Sean Wilson coming in below 75.

    By my calculations we need England to beat Scotland 13-1 to get through.

    Updates available on the BDO website on the 6 Nations tournament. Ireland were drawn in Group 2 with Scotland and England. They played Scotland first where they were beaten 13-5 and in the 2nd game they made a much improved performance but still were beat 13-10 by England. Scotland and England are currently playing to see who tops group 2.
    Northern Ireland were in Group 1 and they finished 2nd in the Group after losing to the Netherlands 13-11 in their 1st game but they beat Wales 13-12 in their final game. Wales topped the group on scoring average because they beat the Netherlands 13-7 in their 1st game.

    England beat Scotland 13-9 to top group 2.

    Mens semi final results; Wales 13 Scotland 7,England 13 Northern Ireland 3.

    Ladies semi final results; Netherlands 5 Ireland 3,England 5 Scotland 0.

    Mens Final Result: England 13 Wales 7. John Walton done a 9 darter in the 17th leg of the final. Ladies Final Result: England 5 Netherlands 3.
