Just wondering if I should put my red do sight near the front, back, or middle of the rail system on my G36. Any help is appreciated.

its this one, by the way

You can put em anywhere on the rail and they'll do pretty much the same job, but if it's further forward on the rail it'll give you a bit more peripheral vision around it.:)

my preferance is above the mag well its what i like, but you ought to try it at various distances down the rail and see what suits you!

TBH, I don't really need the red dot sight, its just for show, so I was just looking to see what others thought.

And I aggree about it being above the mag. Looks pretty nice

Very true, there is a cone of vision coming out of them at the angle that it can be used at and correct for parallax, by being further forward, your head can be more off centre and still use the sight.

for such a light red dot as far forward as possible i would say!
thats where i would prefer my red dot, but mines a Eotech red dot and it made my gun far too top heavy up front!

Im new to airsoft and iv been hearing mixed reviews on the galaxy mp5 , is it good? otherwise im going to get a g18 wit extra clips and a franchi 12 SAS or if anyone has a suggestion for no more than E120

If you're looking to play airsoft rather than just collect and target shoot, you really want a fully-automatic gun. Everything I've heard about the Galaxy MP5s has been good - the casing is a bit cheap and all but that's not so important for playing. Pistols and shotguns are fun, but you'll generally be outclassed in most games if that's all you've got. I'd say leave that stuff for later, and either get yourself a Galaxy MP5 and some magazines, or see what you can pick up used for 120 or less in terms of assault rifles and that kind of thing.

By the way, there's a thread for newbie questions, so you don't have to step on someone else's thread.
