I just wanted a few opinions on whether it would be ok to run the Dunboyne 4 mile 2 weeks before Paris marathon. I ran it last year for the first time and really enjoyed it. Is it advisable?

I'ld say yes, run it. Did Adamstown 8K last year a week before Cork marathon and plan to do a race of a similar distance before Edinburgh this year, possible the Leixlip 5k. Just don't try to go out too fast and do a PB.

Doing Paris also. Plan to run Dunboyne too but will decide a bit closer to the event if the entry allows.

Plenty of time to recover 2 weeks out. I might say no, if I need to do another run for marathon. e.g 8 mile pace run or something like that.

I asked that same question to one of the greats. Even with 1 week togo a 4 miler is ideal. 10km a bit to far.

All of the Pfitzinger and Douglas advanced Marathoning programs include a race of 8-10k 15 days before the marathon. I've found them to be an invaluable confidence builder, at just the right time, but different strokes for different folks and all that.
