If, operating as a sole trader, you claim a portion of light and heating expenses incurred in your home, are you then liable for capital gains if you sell the house?

    Thanks,

    No

Only if you are going to claim rent or a portion of the mortgage interest. Then it would not be you PPR but actually your office. You would have to pay CGT on the portion of the hose you use as an office.
