UK & Ireland only for the €19.99, though. France is 44.99, Germany 34.99 etc, so it looks very expensive compared to Tomtom and Navigon?

Hmm what's this one year licence crap?
Does that mean it quits working after a year and you need to buy it again (or buy maps)?

Or does it mean anything in practice...

That's what confuse me as well, I don't know what is the story with other navigation's, I presume once you buy then update is free.

I'm guessing it means one of 2 things:

    1. You get free map updates but only for 1 year
    2. The app stops working completely after 1 year

    From their site.

    NDrive Maps Information
NDrive maps provide the depth, accuracy and coverage needed to enable turn-by-turn, door-to-door route guidance. A map based on TeleAtlas digital map data doesn't just feature road geometry. It contains dozens of road attributes for every kilometer, everything from speed restrictions to lane configurations. And it also offers millions of Points of Interest, so it enables turn-by-turn directions to restaurants, fuel stations, shopping and more.

If this app uses Navteq maps fore Ireland then it's deffo with given a shot, not sure how to find out tho. It does mention that it uses tele atlas for some other countries, so I'm guessing they use same for Ireland...

What about getting a gps lock, does it take long?
    Thanks

edit: just saw your post, tele atlas it is so. Ahwell, from what I've read, that's grand for Dublin but not great after that..

Took the step of buying Navigon Europe for €74.99 (on offer from 99.99).
Had used it lots before (and other iphone navigation apps) - by jailbreaking, but have gotten sick of the whole jailbreak thing, so eventhough it's seems pricey and all that - its a great piece of software and turns the iphone into a proper gps unit. And you get the new versions from the App Store for free. If you want to buy some add-ons (like 3d landscape maps coming soon) - they leave that up to you as an in-app upgrade.

After using Tom Tom, CoPilot and 1 other GPS app - Navigon is by far the best. Used it on a trip to Italy with a lot of driving - and it was bang on all the time. And the UI is very nice.
