Tried this in the music forum but got no reply, thought I'd throw it in here too to see.

I have a Traveling Wilbury's album in my iTunes and the files have gone missing so obviously, they aren't playing. It asks me to locate the file.

Now, on my iPod, the album is there and it's playing away grand.

Sooo, how do I find the folders on my iPod and bring it over to my desktop?

*on a mac if that helps*

    Mucho gracias.

Xpod lets you transfer files from your iPod to your Mac.

They don't let you simply transfer songs from your ipod to your desktop but you can get programs that do it, I use idump but not sure if it's mac compatible. Just search for ipod to itunes mac and you should get a few hits.

    Thank you all very much!

iPods are great, but you really should be able to drag and drop files on and off like a Zen...

7,500 of them? No thanks, iTunes works for me just fine. If I could drag multiple playlists to the iPod/iPhone it would be perfect.

You'd hardly be dragging and dropping all of them at once now would ya?!

I like the way the iPod works, but just for instances like mine, it would be fairly handy!

Downloaded senuti and it did the job, thanks whiterebel! :D

On a Mac, you can sort of drag and drop onto the iPod, but not from it.

With the ipod connected and iTunes open, just select tracks in a finder window and drag them onto the icon for your ipod in the itunes window.

The tracks will be copied onto the ipod without first having to load them into iTunes.
