road trenches

    the frost and ice are well gone so why are there so many holes and trenches left in the roads round waterford city..
    2 worst i drove over john street @little elf and johns pk at the butler,
    ud swear it was cavan down here............

    A lot of it is to do with the weather. Until permanent repairs can be made, the ambient temperature must rise and we must have a spell of clear weather, otherwise the tarmacadam won't settle properly and before you know it the road will be torn up again. They can add an expensive additive to the mixture to help it set in the cold weather but this will only increase the overall cost and it isn't really necessary given the prolonged cold weather spell we had was deemed to be very improbable.

    If there are any serious pot holes that you believe can damage to cars, contact the council and they'll make temporary fixes to the roads.

    i woudnt belive it either,,they should give the contract to jimsy doran,,that man can lay tarmacadam in any conditions lol
