I thought there would more to do in the game, doesnt look like the player does anything but hit a button every now and again, for the most part, it seems, you would leave the controller on the chair beside you.

I will still get this though as it looks interesting, but I want to shoot a few bad dudes on the way! lol

Have mine bought and paid for in Gamestop.They have the SP edition out on the shelf for the same price as the standard,probably a mistake but i shall be taking it up with them in the morning.:D

I'm of two minds. I was really excited about it. Then I played the demo and was less so. Some of it was good, but there was a bit too much 'press these random combo of buttons to just do what the game wants you to do' for me.

Im trading in MW2 and FIFA for this. I dunno what it is the older im getting the more fed up i am of the same old formats..football games/first person shooters all the time..ugh...Heavy Rain is something new and different and i hope it sells really well. Its like CSI meets Broken Sword

Played first 2 hours last night, I had a review build and there was major bugs at the start as well as 250 mg update to download..dno if thats in the retail build. Probably is.

Even with that: It was class! The opening credits are very cool.

It seems like a game that's worth getting based on it being so original or at least different to so many other games, not sure if I'll get it tomorrow as I'm still playing 6or7 other games at the moment!

I'd be very happy if the special edition was €50 in GameStop as I have credit I need to spend. I'd be well chuffed if White Knight Chonicles was €50 as well.

Have you played the demo by any chance? I don't know how you could say that if you played the demo.

Yeah thats not a definate price as i was in there today and chappy said they didn't have a price on system,but oddly enough it was tagged on the shelves.

Regular game is 45.99. Special edition is 52.99.

They are taking UFC game as trade in for 17.50 which is ok seeing as it is platinum now. I find HMV better than other shops for trade ins and prices recently. "Game" shops need to cop on!

I'm the opposite, loved Farenheit and Nomad Soul and was really looking forward to this until playing the demo. Felt like there's just far too many QTEs. I'll pick it up cheap in a couple of months.

Okay well for one you move your character like you would a car in a racing game, and it's not like there's one QTE every now and then, there's a lots of QTE's where there are button pushes and analog twiggles and controller shakes that are context sensitive. The only time you might be sitting there not doing anything is when there's an extended dialogue. The character Jhayden in particular has sections that are much more 'gamey' and control more like an action game in the demo I thought.

super_furry, I loved The Nomad Soul too, although I only got interested in it because David Bowie was in it. I wonder if anyone else here has played it?

Anyway, reserved the CE in GameStop earlier (along with White Knight Chronicles). Busy weekend for gaming!

Ah Horse****!!!! I just read it from another site. I want the XMB while i'm playing the game (sad i know), will prob have it cleared within a week!!! but i'll wait anyway i spose.

It's available straight away but it's the one code for all 3 items so if you use it now you'll have to get in touch with Customer service and stuff to be able to get the soundtrack.

Basically there's been a problem with getting the Heavy Rain soundtrack on the store this week so it won't be available until next Thursday. So if you redeem your code before then you'll get the downloadable episode and the dynamic theme but you won't get the soundtrack. If you redeem the code from next Thursday everything will work fine. People who have already redeemed the code are being sent to customer services to be sorted out.

Are the special editions the same? I thought the special edition was HMV exclusive?

I've been looking forward to this since I first saw the "audition" video. Even if it isn't the greatest game in the world, I at least hope that more developers will take note and try and inject a few new ideas into their games instead of rehashing the same old gimmicks. That's what I like about guys like David Gage and Peter Molyneux. They don't always succeed, but at least they try to make something new.

I checked in HMV and thought the street release was broken as they had them on shelves priced. Further down more copies had "Available Tomorrow".

Btw, I noticed a change in some games pricing. Darksiders was €35 at the weekend is not €47.99. Glad I got it at the weekend.

I agree, in some ways it's better to have tried and failed (somewhat in Molyneux and Cage's cases) than never to have tried at all.

It's not unusual for a game to be cheaper than RRP on release week and then to return to RRP the following week. HMV and GameStop do it all the time, not sure about Game.

They all do it, when MW2 was released HMV was €15 cheaper than GAME when I checked in the morning, on my way home from college 4 hours later GAME had knocked €15 off the price. But still had other copies at the inflated price. Your better off waiting until at least the day after so you don't get ripped off.

Nope it's not. Soundtrack is digital and they're the same special editions, it's the download code that's in the box.

No I work in Gamestop and thats the price we were all given. It could change the second its released but I don't think it will:D nt much in it 2 warrent charging much more

I can confirm that GameStop Henry St are selling Heavy Rain CE and WKC for €49.99, w00t! I'm loving the CE packaging. Can't wait to try it when I get home from le laboratoire.

Yup picked up my CE in Gamestop for 49.99. Now just have to get through the rest of work.

I hope I haven't ruined the game for anyone, in that at every dramatic moment as the music rises you're now going to start singing "Heavy Rain, heavy rain, heavy rain," away to yerselves.
