Door to Door Selling

I'm looking at selling some of my Farm Produce door to door. Does anyone have some advice on this or know where I might find some advice? I'm wondering is it a runner in Ireland, are people going to be suspicious of someone selling door to door?

just as an interested passer-by...

If you knocked to my door at random trying to sell me food, I wouldn't be interested. However, if you send around a few leaflets, saying that you were going to be going door-to-door in the next couple of weeks, what you're selling and price, along with a contact number and link to a website where I could check you out, I probably would buy from you.
