Heading to 30 Seconds To Mars tomorrow and mate of mine is thinking of driving us in. I've not been up that way so does anybody know if there's any parking around there?

According to the note from ticketmaster that arrived in my inbox yesterday in relation to this event (sorry about the formatting, I'm just copying and pasting).....

    Event Information

    30 Seconds To Mars - The O2, Dublin 26 February 2010

    Doors Open: 18:30
    Show starts: 19:30

    * Times are subject to change

Plan your approach to The O2 based on the following:

    • There are no car parking or set down/ pick up facilities at The O2 at this time, so Patrons are strongly advised to avail of Public Transport to get to the venue.
    • A parking and set down exclusion area will be in place from Castleforbes road (Vallance and McGrath's pub) on the North Quay and the Sheriff Street junction with East Wall Road to the North-eastern side of The O2.
    • Dart, Luas and Dublin Bus all run services from the Suburbs and the City Centre which will get you as far as the Connolly Station area on the North Quays area and Grand Canal Dock on the South side of the river and finally Alfie Byrne Road coming from North side of the city. (Please note that the red luas line has extended to The O2)

    By Car

Patrons who do decide to take their car to the city are advised to use the following car parks:

    • There are a number of car parks in the area coming from the North side of the city, patrons are advised to use the car parks in the IFSC, Jury's Custom House, National College of Ireland and the Connolly station car park at the end of Commons Street.
    • From the Southside of the river we would recommend parking in Grand Canal Dock Car Park and other city centre car parks, a lot of whom are promoting special rates for concert goers.

    Public Transport

Patrons are highly advised to avail of the shuttle bus service which has three routes:

    1. A service from the top of Dawson Street to The O2
    2. A service from Eden Quay (Laughter Lounge) to The O2
    3. A service from Amiens Street/Connolly station to The O2

All buses will carry signage indicating that they are the O2 shuttle buses. They start at 18:00 and operate every 20mins from the above locations. The cost of the shuttle bus is €3 one way €5 return.

The shuttle bus is also available for wheelchair patrons, to avail of a wheelchair accessible bus please call Brian on 087 3463136 to book your place.

In addition the 151 Docklands service run by Dublin Bus offers good frequency and will get you to Castleforbes Road which is within a couple of minutes walk to The O2. For more information visit www.dublinbus.ie

The Luas Docklands extension is now open on the Red Line. This new route provides for stops at George's Dock, Mayor Square, Spencer Dock and The Point. For more information please visit http://www.luas.ie/

Cheers for the above. Probably just bus it in. Less hassle.

Depending where you'd be driving in from, it could be handy to drive to one of the park and ride spots on the red Luas line and take that all the way to the end.

Lots of free and safe parking around The 02.

out of interest cos this is what I'm thinking of doing, what's the story with crowds after gigs and queues for the Luas?

Driving in from Ashbourne. Most likely we'd be coming through via the port tunnel

The only time I got the Luas after a gig, I left early so there wasn't too much of a queue. However, I thought it was well organised and they have 3 trams lined up and ready to go as often as possible.
