I realise that this particular little heli has been out a while now after doing some reading up on it online but I only saw it last week in my local hobby shop and after the guy in there demonstrated how easily it was to fly it in a confined space, I had to have one...

and clips of it on youtube...

Its a very stable little thing and comes with its own 2.4GHz tranny for €150. I reckon it would be a very good first helicopter for any beginner as I hadnt flown my old Esky Honeybee in years and it was almost like starting again but now that I have had a few flights on this, I love it :). The tranny even comes with the 4 AA batteries required to run it but I can imagine they will not last too long. I have over 20 flights (5 mins or so apiece) on mine and they are still ok but they may calve tomorrow :D.

It comes with 2 tiny 120mAh lipo batteries and a charger that can charge 4 at a time in less than half an hour. You can get these batteries on ebay for a fiver a pair if you look around but I recommend you get the 150mAh/15C ones as there are loads of 10C ones that are even cheaper but may be crap due to low power output.

Some of the bigger capacity ones on ebay (180mAh) are too fat to fit them in the cradle and one crowd showed a fix where you basically have to burst/cut the cradle to get them in and that would not be a good thing IMO. At least from the pics provided anyway .

I reckon anyone who has ever flown a heli would enjoy one of these little birds. Its so light, it does no damage to itself in a crash (unless you really hammer the thing ;)) and always flies away afterwards like nothing happened which would be a plus for a beginner. It really is very durable.

I don't think it is very suitable for outdoor flying unless its extremely calm, as in still air but I have had a few flights outdoors in these conditions and it performed OK. You could definitely have some great fun indoors in an indoor football hall etc with it and even your front room if you feel like it :D.

It comes in 2 versions. One is a bind and fly (if you have a suitable tranny of your own on 2.4) and the one I got with its own. AFAIK, the bind and fly one is €60 cheaper or thereabouts.

Get one, you will love it .

Yep, I got one some time back and they are good fun, good for beginners also. Theres some mods you can do it which can be found on youtube.
I also got the lower blades MCX, cut them down to size - mainly at the root and pop them onto the MSR, then reverse you trottle channel and take off and fly inverted. one negative point to them is that the undercarriage is very weak. I take it indoor flying - it can really pick up some speed pretty quickly in open spaces-hall.
