Cheaper to buy a new stereo with an aux in jack on the front

would it not be more hassle trying to get another Facia panel to match a new radio etc.... would rather keep the original radio..

also found this one, would not have usb, sd card on it...alot cheaper

ended up getting this, but the connections did not fit the verso radio.. :( oh well...
might just double check with the local toyota garage to see if they might have a connection to work

they will have one, they're model-specific.

That online shop may have one to fit as well.

I don't know which model the stereo on the Corolla Verso is based on, there are a few different types of CD changer ports.

I'd imagine it'd be the same connection as the 04 Corolla, but as the Verso is heavily based on the Avensis, it may be the same as that. Toyota dealer should be able to shed some light.

Note the Verso stereo changed in 2006 so specify the year.

also interested in one of these...for a 05 Verso aswell

Where is the CD changer connector bus this link refers to to connect into or do you have to get into the back of the head unit?

it's on the back of the headunit.

just for clarification : the corolla verso is a 2005, as i wanted to get an MP3 connection so that any MP3 could be played through the stereo. The connection is plugged into the back of the head unit, where you would connect a cd changer. The MP3 connection is handy as you plug it into the headphone socket on any MP3 and it will (hopefully) play through the stereo, and you can use the cd controls on the radio to play the music.

Toyota supply an MP3 connection but for ipods only.

The stereo in the verso is a W58810 panasonic

Lex Luthor, i'm based just outside cork city if you want to see it, if/when i get it working

called into the toyota garage....didn't have a clue. told me of a guy in cork city that might have a connection....will try tomorrow

Toyota only do ipod connectors, not universal MP3 ones.
Note that only ipods can be controlled with the stereo and wheel buttons.

sorry for delay, was not around...
here is a link to the manual showing how to remove it...

The mp3 connection i used can also be used as a hands free for my mobile by plugging the headphone connector into the phone....
also any mp3 can be used on it, if you use an ipod then you are stuck having to use an ipod...i'm not an ipod fan so that why i went for the other/ordinary connection

personally id buy a new stereo with a ipod kit on it, ive installed 3 or 4 of these kits and the bmw boardmonitor one is the only halfway decent one, most of them pretend to be cd changers and often dont have the cd-text protocol done correctly , so you end up trying to figure out what 'disk' in the changer is for what input or what function, the sound quality is also quetionable, the kits tend to cost almost as much as a stereo with a propper aux in and ipod control kit

mp3 aux in kit i got was €40...works perfect, sound perfect.
when you press "disc" on the radio head unit, you have the option to use the cd in the radio itself or press it again to pick "cd-changer" which is the connection for the mp3..
also changing to another radio will make the dash look bad as you will prob not get a unit to fit exactly and have to get a new fascia.
Anyway...the one i got work/suits my needs for €40....happy days

those are just the 'aux in' cable kits with no controller, those do work well and i agree some cars do look horrible with aftermarket stereos , most jap/korean cars use standard DIN stereos fitted in this country so they tend to look better,

i was complaining about the kits that control ipods or use interface boxes and pre-amps
