    Hi all,

I'm a first time poster here and would just like a bit of help with the above if you don't mind?

I currently have a Compaq Presario laptop, bought in 2006 I think from PC World and the thing is falling apart! First the internal wireless card stopped working, then the hinges that open and close the laptop snapped and as a result severed the wires which enable the screen to display for the user! Not really too partial to going back to PC world as they're not very helpful if there's any problems. Price range is probably between 400-500 euro. Is that unreallistic?

I need a good laptop recommendation for the following:

Home internet use after work so mobility is not an issue.

Something with good enough speed when running excell, word etc (doesn't have to be lightning quick)! So no windows Vista presumably?!

Used for storing music and photos and socially surfing the web (facebook, booking flights/hotels, email, boards etc).

Are there any laptops that already come with all of the Microsoft Office package already installed as well as security software supplied?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

    Gar.
