I'm not looking for medical advice, just some feedback/thoughts.
I've decided to opt for the cervical cancer vaccine and I've booked myself in for the first shot next friday. Has anyone had it? What should I expect?

And FYI, I know its come up, but I am going to the Charter Medical Group. I was advised by my AMAZING GP to go there because if she did it it would cost about €700 (vaccine+administering it) versus €400 with Charter.

    Any feedback welcome.

I will have to do some research on the vaccine actually.

I would get it myself if I thought it wasn't too late.

How old are you lazygal? (if you don't mind me asking!)

I am late 20s, I am still a viable candiate for the vaccine due to my low number of partners and general sexual history (no unprotected sex).

Ah ok, so the no unprotected sex thing is a must I guess. Haven't done that myself! Although have been with the same person since I was 16. I will look into it.

Definitely ask, have your partner tested and if he comes back clear I would go for it. Apparently everyone can benefit (some gay men are getting it as extra STD protection) but the degree of benefit depends on exposure. Call the Charter Med people and they are brill at explaining everything!
