:confused:Ok so I am the chief and only bridesmaid for my sister.
Our family is one of a lot of dysfunction so she is stressing a lot over the whole thing.
First off she doesnt want a hen nite.... but she feels she MUST do a hen nite.. ( Dont ask)

I have made trillions of suggestions which for whatever reason she is not into - dog racing ( cruel & she doesnt gamble), salsa ( sweaty betty), night away ( doesnt want to stay overnight in a hotel - she wants to go home that nite), PJ party ( not into it), make up session ( not ruining my skin), pamper session ( blah boring)

Anyhoos,,, looking for suggestions for about 10 ladies:

Activity in Dublin City Centre and a good restaurant afterwards

She doesnt want to ask people to spend more than 100 per person.

Are you getting the impression that she cares too much about what others think!!!! AHHHHHHHH Help me please come up with some options before my head explodes!

Thanks for any suggestions... genuine ones please... and please no commentary about me or her or why she shouldnt feel like she does etc.

All i am looking for is suggestions on hen nites... in dublin without spending a fortune -

    Thanks:D

Karaoke is great craic - in Ukiyo bar on Wicklow Street you can rent private booths (so your not embarrassing yourself infront of the general public) €25 per hour fits 10 people. Its a cheap night and the food is really good in the restaurant too.

    Here's the link:

i don't drink and wasn't particularly interested in a hen night myself but i've decided to go to the shelbourne for afternoon tea...you have the option to have champagne of course!

other than that how about paint balling?
you could do an american style bridal shower in your house?
    ann summers party?

I understand her predicament, I was the same and it was a disaster. Wish I stayed at home.

I went to a party that my brother arranged forhis wife once, a karaoke limo and pub crawl, brilliant, wish I had of done something like that, is anything at all. We stopped off for dinner first went on a little pub crawl then finished off at a nightclub, great fun and we all got to go home to bed afterwards.

Just go out to a really nice restaurant and leave it at that! :) Don't even bother with the activity.

An Ann Summers party might suit her as she can have it in the comfort of her own home & maybe order in so its low key but a great laugh. My friend did that - it was brilliant craic. The games were hilarious :-) it was nice to chillax after! I highly recommend the girls who did my friends Ann Summers. Let me know if u want her details.

Restaurant sugestions is either the Chameleon in Temple Bar - if u book the top floor u'll have it all to urself. The seating arrangements are a winner whihc is y I'd choose it.

Also, Koh - in the Italian quarter have private tables for that number which are brilliant but ur still in the atmosphere of the restaurant & the food is divine. They also do a cocktail masterclass for groups before dinner if u book it.

What about an activity based "Hen Day" as opposed to a nighttime event? Yiz could go go-karting, horse riding, quad biking or sumo- wrestling in those big inflatable suits? It would keep everyone busy and the awkward moments of finding things to chat about would be reduced.
If you go for a meal, drink will be taken- if your "dysfunctional family" are fighters, this may lead to arguements.
In meal/ pub situations, people on Hen nights tend to feel the need to dress up in all the Hen gear, and if your sister hates the idea of this- it will increase her anxiety.

Don't know if this would help but heard it mentioned on the radio yesterday as part of the promo for this year dragons den.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions... Unfortunately none of them a runner.

So I think it may simply have to be just the restaurant.

Any suggestions for good restaurants in Dublin City Centre...

Yeah I WOULD LOVE THAT but unfortunately she doesnt want anything that involves getting sweaty. She hates the outdoors. She doesnt want to have anything in her house.

I wouldnt be doing any of the hen gear crap either way. Am going to do a memory book for her with photos from everyone and special memories from each of them with some pearls of wisdom on marriage....

She did mention a Fortune telling evening with a Restaurant afterwards. But not being into fortune tellers I have no idea where to start....

hhhmmm - your a great sister putting lots of effort into trying to find something she would be interested in and despite all the great suggestions its a pity none of them are a runner. However, I do have a friend who is going to be my bridesmaid in Sept and she goes to a lot of fortune tellers and if you pm me I can surely get you the name of someone in the Dublin area. But, this will most likely meanyou all have to travel of some despcription to this person, and would all the other girls be interested in it? Its not for me - am a skeptic, but if thats what your sister wants perhaps you and her go during the day and meet the others for dinner that evening - just that it might be too much pressure on the others, plus each reading most likely takes one hour - sorry for long reply! Hope it helps

We were going to do this for my friend....

Or you could cook dinner or hire caters in, play take that singstar, have several bottles of wine and happy days! You could also arrange for a beautician to come over a give manicures and facials, or mobile spray tan, then ppl could give money towards the food and pay for what they want to get done.

Best of luck with it! Let us know what you decide :)
