Heading to Kilkenny for a party on Sat night, staying in Langton's. Will be down in time to watch the Ireland/England match Saturday afternoon. Anyone suggest a pub with a good atmosphere but not too rowdy?

The Tholsel is the local rugby pub but I'd go to Rafter Dempseys or the Pump House.

surprisingly the bar at the back of the left bank bar is really good for rugby matches!
the tholsel is pretty dingy - for diehard fans only. was there for there french game last week and moved over to the left bank for the england/wales game. good atmosphere and much better decor!!!!
Its taken over by a very young crowd later in the evening though........

I'd suggest Kyteler's Inn beer garden.
It's great for matches of any sort and gets a great atmosphere.
They have four large televisions situated in the centre of the garden facing all directions. If you want seats though, I'd recommend getting in there early.

Ended up watching it in the theatre at Langtons. Great atmosphere, huge screen, comfy seat and bar. Brilliant!

was in the Tholsel bar, good atmosphere and they do a nice pint of Smithwicks. The Left Bank was well busy.
