    Hi Folks,

Looking for some recommendations if there are any out there.

Started playing regularly last year and joined a club. Didn't play too many competitions, maybe 3/4 in total, and haven't managed to get down from my initial 28 handicap. Spent alot of the longer evenings on the course last year practicing and feel I have improved a little and have broken 100 now and again but want to get some structured lessons to improve on the basics.

Can anybody recommend a good coach in the Midlands area? Preferably within 30 minutes of Mullingar. I know Kevin McGrath in Birr is supposed to be decent it's just a little far. I'd be looking at arranging a block of lessons and don't want to be travelling too far.

Thanks in advance for any help!

There is a newish assistant in Blackbush Golf Club in Dunshaughlin. Fintan Bonner is his name. He has been getting some unbelievable results out some of his regular students. He recently had a 24 handicap shoot 51 points on his home course. Maybe give him a shout. Its not that far from Mullingar.

    Thanks people...

Has anybody been to any of the guys at the GUI in Carton? Dunshaughlin and Athlone are definitely options. Tullamore would be handier again, if you don't mind letting me know how you get on Charlie it would be great.

I go to David Mortimer at the GUI. Sound guy and tries to make you understand what's going on rather than quick fixes... There seems to be coaches up there to suit everyone though...

Donagh McArdle in Tullamore is another good coach mentioned above...

    Thanks!

Has anybody ever been to/known anyone who's been to Bernard Quigley/Kenny Fahey in Carton GUI?

Their prices are reasonable on the GUI website, probably due to the fact that they don't seem to be full professionals, but they could be just as good as anything else that's out there perhaps...
