Hyundai i10?

    Hi all,

    Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere in the forum - please redirect me if it has!

    I am looking to buy a new car under the scrappage scheme, and so far the cheapest car I've found that fits my needs (five-door, slightly more oomph than a one-litre, relatively roomy) is the Hyundai i10. Does anyone have any opinions/advice on this car?

    Alternatives I've found are the Kia Rio (1.4) or the Volkswagen Polo United or Fox (both 1.2).

    FYI, I currently drive a 1995 Astra 1.4, and would like something around the same size; I can't afford something the same engine size, hence my looking at cars in the 1.1-1.2 range.

    Thanks!
    Chatelaine

    Renault clio would be a better choice at very good price.
    i10/rio are almost toy cars imo.
    Also worth looking into slightly used cars & forget the scrappage. You would most likely get into a better class of car.

    The Kia Rio will be bigger than any cars mentioned being based on the Hyundai Accent. Fair enough it's not very refined or stylish, but if you're buying by the square yard they're good value.

    Thanks for the replies - some food for thought there!

    @mickdw: I'd consider buying second-hand if I didn't know I'd get diddly squat for my jalopy ;)
