Noob question about basic setup

I just moved and will possibly being moving again shortly but could also be staying on where I am.

I only have the Irish stations at the moment with quite bad reception.

My question is, what would be the cheapest way to get a few channels with no contract, I heard those freeview boxes are available in Ireland now, is this a good/cheap option? Or I remember something about everyone buying some kind of setup in LIDL.

    Thoughts/ideas ?

Power City etc., do all in one packages for around 70-80 euro which would get you up and running.
