When my internet connection works then I tend to spend around 4-5 hours playing online.

When my net connection doesn't work then I usually play around an hour or 2 a day

Quite a bit. If I'm out, I'll play my ipod touch games in small bursts but I'm sure it would add up. Then when I'm at home alot, although I have days when I catch up on movies and reading but if I was to give an average daily time.... 4-5 hours.

Maybe an 12 hours a week depending on if I have something to play really, but with Final Fantasy 13 and Heavy Rain and God of War 3 soon I'd expect it might go up considerably to like 25 maybe more?

    Depends on the game really.
Playing Borderlands at the mo, its a bit slow and lots of running around, get cheesed off and die and then turn it off

Between Monday and Friday I'd play 5 hours total, at the weekends I could put in 5 a day, depending on what's going on and what games I'm playing!

Well I'm usually off work on a Tuesday and the missus is in work,so more often than not I'll get up,put on tracksuit (no shower) straight down to sofa and play till the last possible minute before i have to shower and get dinner ready. So between 5 and 7 hours on a Tuesday. Then i guess 2 to 3 hours most other nights during the week and generally not at all at the weekend. If only we got paid for our efforts eh?

I find it incredibly hard to play when during those time sin my life when I was working or in FT education.

I mean you get up at 6:30, get home at 7, have something to eat, then you turn on Demon's Souls and 55 minutes in you die cheaply and you just think to yourself "what the hell am I doing with the 2 or 3 hours of time I have off today? Why frustrate myself like this?".

Its an extreme example but I still think it applies to most games, although at lessening degrees.

I remember playing Driver3 when it was released,I'm guessing maybe 10 years ago. There was one section in Istanbul were you had to chase some chick on a motorbike and it was seriously unforgiving.I must have tried it at least 100 times until i beat it.Now ten years on i can't see myself putting that kind of time into a level.

I notice that when I play the odd lunch time, just trying to get an hour further into the game. Which is why I stopped playing Dead Rising at lunch recently! Most games these days have fairly generous Autosave or Checkpoints so don't think it's as much an issue these days. I'd say it only applies to a minority of games these days.

My evenings during the week, from 6pm to bedtime are usually filled with media of some kind. If there are new episodes of shows that I watch out or new movies I've been waiting for I'll put my time into those.

If there are no new shows or movies I'll usually play a game on the PC for the evening.

I don't know about noodler, but personally the more difficult a game is the better. I like to play something so immersive as to completely distract my attention. I don't like games that are frustrating though.

Demon Souls is difficult not frustrating imo. A game is only frustrating when it is badly designed and doesn't give the player any option but to endure this design flaw. In Demon Souls the player always has the tools and means to figure out how to pass every obstacle. Once you learn and understand the rules you will rarely meet an obstacle and consider it frustrating to pass.

Nah, frustration doesn't really follow such rules.

Spending the best part of an hour on a level and then dieing at the boss is usually frustrating especially when you have to start all over again. This is all obviously in the context of when you only have a limited time period and you may well be tired.

I don't think most people usually wag their finger at the TV with a cheeky smile in these situations and go "oh my fault, you are so well-designed after all!"
