Weather depending myself and a few mates are booked in to play Luttrellstown on Sunday. I'm just wondering if anyone has played there recently and could give me an update on the condition of the course, are temp tee boxes still in play etc.

A couple of tips to get around the course with some pride left would also be great.

    Thanks

I played a couple of weeks ago and the course was in good condition. No temporary tee boxes as far as I can remember, fairways in good condition. The greens on the front 9 were quite heavily sanded when I was there but the back 9 greens were in good condition.

For the time of year and considering the weather we had from december to now i'd say it's in very good condition.

I have booked to play there 3 times in the last 2 months and was canceled due to weather twice. I think they either open the course fully or close it, I don't know if they do winter greens at all? Anyone played on temp greens there?

Personally I would probably cancel if they were playing temp greens as the greens/approach shots are the highlight of most of the holes with eye catching bunkering and raised putting surfaces.

We played 3 weeks ago and bar the sandy greens the course was in great condition.

Played just last Wed and as already stated above the course was in great shape other than the very very heavely sanded greens:mad:. No temp t boxes or greens at all, cant actually recall them using temps at all.

Anyway great track! in great shape and will be out Sat again:D

oh:eek: for me the the 11th n 12th are my fav holes

yeh i was out last week also, it's in ok nick, a lot of unrepaired divots on fairways (hundreds on the 18th i'd say) and the greens were very sandy alright.

12th is a cracker alright, thought 11th was pretty standard. My favourites are the 5th, 10th, 12th and 17th although I could name about 9, great track.

    My bad:D! I meant the 12th n 13th(par3 over lake)

Ye the 5th is a great hole too although dnt really find it tht difficult....handy to reach in 2 with plenty of reen to play with on approach.

As for the 10th.... pretty average hole and the 17th bores me.... much rather enjoy the 18th

Out of interest! wht line do you take on the 12th? I like to shoot over the oaks and land between the 2 bunkers(or over on a good day). Where as my friend tends to keep right over the water and play up along the side of the lake:eek: ( most of us think he's crazy though).

Yeh, left is definitely the line I think. Didn't cop it til my 3rd round there but it leaves a much handier approach.

As for the others, depends on the day I suppose, I've had wind in my face for 10 and 17 the last couple of times so maybe remember them being trickier than they are!

greens are very heavily sanded to the point where putting is a lottery.

There are plenty of other courses with better setups at the moment

Was out at the weekend and the greens have a serious amount of sand on them but are still very soft. Was my first time at the course and have to say I though it was nice but not as good as I was expecting. Had heard some great stuff about it from others. Will reserve judgement till I get back out during the summer.

Played there today for the first time.
Lovely track alright and some really enjoyable holes.

Unfortunately though as per previous posts the greens are still very sandy. There was also a lot of divets on the fairways and some of the tee boxes were badly cut up as well.

Enjoyed the round nonetheless but would have liked to have played it was in 100% shape.
(saying that I would have had to pay an awful lot more to play it back then so it all balances out).
