I’m away from Ireland for St.Patricks Day and looking to put together a selection of the best that Ireland has to offer in terms of music for the day that’s in it so I am looking for subjections as to go on the ultimate Irish album/play list. From Trad to Pop to Rock I don’t mind as long as it’s a good Irish song.

    Any suggestions?

The Pogues are a pretty obvious selection.

    3. Black Velvet Dany Boy
    4. Danny Boy
    5. It's The Same Olf Shillelagh
    6. Dear Old Donegal
    7. The Wild Rover
    8. The Unicorn Song
    9. Tim Finnegan's Wake
    10. When Irish Eyes Are Smiling

I'd stick a bit of Horslips on there too for the day that's in it -Trouble with a Capital T.

Not really an Irish song but one that has an Irish & rock feel to it is Shipping up to Boston by the Dropkick Murphys - great song!
