    Hi,

I am a 6 handicaper and have just moved to South Antrim. The following 3 courses are close by and all seem to have a good reputation. Can anyone suggest which one to join based on the following criteria:-
    - Quality of course year round
    - Friendlieness of members
    - Ability to get out and play at the weekend
    - Team's

All feedback would be welcome as I need to make a decision before the start of the season in April. Hilton are charging £1000 enterance, but the others are free. Is this worth it?

I can't help you with your four questions, but if you're being asked for money from Templepatrick, I'd look at the other two more seriously.

Ballyclare is a good country course, nothing too fancy and I know it was brutalised by the floods in 2008 (there were photos on the walls). It feels out in the country, gentle and peaceful.

Massereene would be smarter than Ballyclare and it has lots going for it. I had a very entertaining night there and the buzz in the clubhouse was excellent. I think I'd give it the nod ahead of Ballyclare.
