Extend garden Boundary

    Hi folks,

I know it's a difficult question to answer, just wondering if anyone has any dealings with extending your garden onto council land.
I would like to extend my back garden by about 5 to 10 feet, there is a ditch at the back of the garden, this is about 5 feet deep, all over grown and the likes, mostly dead and covered in ivy. Then about 20 feet of grass and a footpath.
Any one ever purchase a small piece of land from the council to do such a thing? It would be Kildare county council, Kilcock area. Plan on calling to Naas to the county offices over the next few weeks to enquire.
So the garden is about 7m wide, then extend by 10feet or so. Mainly want to get rid of the ditch and wooden fence and put up a wall and have a nice garden area.

Thanks for reading and your inputs.
