Amazon.co.uk Marketplace

Having never really used Amazon, and having never used Amazon Marketplace - today I braved a new world and tried it looking for birthday/anniversary presents for my girlfriend.

My god is it absolutely **** next to ebay.

#1) I added a bunch of items to basket, taking note of the delivery charge it said on each items page(Naively thinking, that like ANY e-tailer, it will show you the delivery charge for your country when you have an account.)

Went to checkout, had to go to the very last page to even see the delivery amount - and even then, it doesnt show you individual delivery charges - just a lump sum.

Result: Items costing £36, postage costing £48.
To find out which items were costing so much postage, I had to go to each product page(which you can't do from checkout, you have to open a new tab and go to basket). Click the sellers name, click delivery charges, and then finally see who was charging what.

Turned out Office were charging £15 delivery for a pair of boots that cost £25 - even though on the office.co.uk site they only charge £9.
Few others were almost as bad.

Really frustrated at the amazon site and ordering process, wont be bothering again unless it's sold by Amazon. Useless, USELESS site design.

    Back to ebay?

Don't think so, they just take a percentage from what I know.

    I doubt it.

I bought an item from Marketplace and the cheapest seller wanted around uk£36 for postage - the next cheapest seller (around £2 more ) shipped it for £6 .. Item cost was £30
