    Hey guys.

Does anybody know where the best place to get backing tracks is?
I'm looking for tracks to complement a one or two piecce band for playing in pubs. Just the general Irish stuff and pop stuff.

Any help is much appreciated!! Thanks!!

I do the same. Few options...

    i) buy professional backing tracks or download free backing tracks from one of the many sites on the net..
ii) Download MIDI files and play them back on keyboard. or some other MIDI playback system.
iii) Put the tracks together yourself. This gives you full control of the track, but takes quite a while to learn

I spose the first thing to ask would be ... How do you plan on playing them back live... laptop, mp3 player, MIDI keyboard.

I have thousands of professional backing tracks. You can use them if you want. What are they for?

    Hi TheBA

What kind of setup do you have/want? Some performers use MIDI backing tracks on MIDI playback devices while others use audio backing tracks on CD/minidisc. There are advantages and disadvantages to both approaches.

For Irish stuff - check out the link in my signature. Or get in touch with me directly, I can point you in the right direction.

Stated at bottom of all pages "Music licensed by MCPSI". So I guess it is the rates we were talking about a few weeks ago, when studiorat put me right.
