iPhone + Water = Bad Times!

So while watching TV tonight, my iPhone beside me, I drank from a stupid bottle of water with a doggy cap and put it beside the iPhone.... Result RIP iPhone :(

It was half alive when I noticed, screen not lit but touch controls working so iPowered  it off and hoped for the best, some 2 hours later and I went down strairs to check on it, (wrapped in a town beside the dehumidifier) and its just on an endless boot cycle.

    So couple of quick ones,

    1) I'm assuming Phonecover from O2 covers this right?

    2) Anyone know if the replacement iPhones they're shipping are running 3.1.2 or 3.1.3?

    3) Any other options I have?

I'll be epic sad if its 3.1.2

    Cheers,
    Paul

You turned it back on far too soon. You should have left it for a couple of days to be safe.

Dry it as much as possible. Then get an air-tight plastic food storage box and a full box of uncle bens uncooked rice. Fill the box with rice and bury the iphone in it and seal it up. Leave in a warm place (hot press) for 2-3 days.

    Worked for me.

    Will Do :)

Because its jail broken an a tethered jailbreak would do my nut in i'd pretty much be willing to pay the price of a new one just to get it repaired as a last resort.

Anyone know anywhere decent? The last one or two problems i've had, the lads at FM Mobile sorted it.

    RIP iPhone 3GS...

So after last night I stuck the phone into a dehumidifier for 18 hours, and I can confirm its BONE dry. Jesus even the condensation over the camera lens vanished after about 20minutes. Suppose the fact it didn't spend long in the wet patch helped.

Even after all that, its infact dead. Does nothing, which is a bummer since it worked while it was wet before I got to turn it off. last night

Anyway onto option two and three now...

    1) Into either FMMobiles or Fonemenders and get it repaired regardless of cost.

    or

    2) Go through phone cover and pray to hell they replace with a network unlocked one. *

    Ideas?

    *fat chance
