Just curious, why would this one not suit? - http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055833392 .

The NXS model has side parallex and .25 click value. The BR model has objective lens dialling for distance/parallex and .125 click value. Both have the same MOA value (55 minutes) but the NXS has 10 per revolution and the BR 6 per revolution.

Essentially they are the same scope with differently working features. The BR works best for target work (a finer click value). Plus they are cheaper (new) than the NXS model.

Just to note, i have nothing to gain here, i neither know the seller or will not profit in any way by the sale of the BR scope. Its just an idle curiosity and small piece of advice.

    no bother ezridax,
when you comare the 2 of them there isnt much in it
so it boils down to the looks of them ,
i just prefer the more tactical look and when you are spending that kind of money you should get what you like otherwise you end up changing again in a couple of months :rolleyes:

so anyone got a spare one knocking around their gun cabinet that they 'd like to get rid off :D

You're dead right. Go for what you want. I have 3 Nightforce scopes and, until the last one, i bought NXS models. I went for the BR as it was recommended to me and am glad i did. Much cheaper and every bit as good.

Sorry to hijack the thread. If i hear anything i let you know.

    Carry on.

Could anyone give me an indication of what kind of money the NXS going for second hand? I am thinking of upgrading my scope, funds permitting :)

New ones (depending on model) go from €1400 (BR model) to €1900 (NXS model). Depending on age, condition and model you could expect to pay anything from €700 - €1200. It is a very wide price range.

It's possible to get a new one in from the states for about €1,300 with a bit of trickery/ help from the US dealer and I know of one in Ireland that's new and with a dealer that can be bought for €1,350.( although to be fair it's the 5.5-22x56
second hand i'd say €900-€1000 is about fair... Astonishing scopes, I have one in 8-32x56 and well worth the investment

    +1.

I have 3. 1 in 12-42x56 (NXS), 1 in 8-32x56 (NXS), but the last one i got was a benchrest (NF) model from England. 8-32x56 with rings for €1250. They can be got cheap if you are prepared to look and jump through a few hoops.

Thanks Eridax and BELOWaverageIQ, really appreciate the info. Do the NF's come with rings due to tube size or should I budget seperately?

Am torn between the NF and Leupold MK4.

    Hi Tikkat3,
I have both the N.F. And a military spec Mark 4 Leopold, I would sell you the MK4 if you are interested.
Even if you want to take come and take a look and compare the two you would be welcome
