I just looked up the film on imdb and they have it dated for 2012.

yeeeeeesh, yet another reason for someone to smack those hollywood fools upside their collective heads.

The original soylent green wasn't that great i always thought,

The scene with his friend going in and realisation was the only good part

But it really could've been expanded on more.

If this is true then if done right it could expand on the universe and have a more menacing edge to it.

Maybe it was just i knew the twist at the end for years and saw it when i was 14 that i never took to it other than it being a staple for sci fi and parody

Why not do a proper version of the source material "Make Room Make Room!" ? or would that be pushing it bit.

TBH im not surprised, the sci-fi genre is a huge market for cinema and has been for oooh I dunno since the inception so a remake of another classic is not a surprise. I thought Futurama done enough with it tho :P
