Im thinking about getting an Iphone as daily I need access to certain sites and my email account as I need to keep tabs on stock market prices etc but when Im out I sometimes miss important changes so im thinking maybe an Iphone could help with this?

Basically what I want to know is with an Iphone can you access your emails anywhere? Is the web access on it better than normal phones or is it still pretty slow and not "real" internet just that specific mobile internet.

I know of an app I can download for an iphone that gives me live shareprices aswell but for this to work do I need to be in a spot where there is wi-fi access and also does it cost a fortune to use the internet on it like ordinary phones?

    Thanks for any info!

You have 3 options when it comes to coverage; wifi, G3 and edge. At the least you always have edge, which is fine for checking the web at a reasonable speed (it feels like dial-up).

I have bill pay and get 1gb per month, which I've yet to go over after a year of use (average about 200mb), so I always get the same bill.

As for it being "real" internet; yes, the iPhone runs a scalled down version of Safari, but you don't have access to flash. You could try browsing on your PC with flash turned off to see if this is a problem (most sites are coded for non-flash versions now).

Iphone built-in email client is pretty good and yes you can access email anywhere ( providing you have network), Web access on Edge might be slowe sometime depends on site you are visiting but it's still very good on 3g and wi-fi.

You can buy Data add-on ( depends what network you are on) o2 do data add-on for €7.50 =250mb, €15 =1gb. 1 gb should be more than enough.

Using wi-fi won't cost you penny.

You don't need WiFi for the stock Apps to work. They will work in 3G and EDGE covered areas just as well if not better in some circumstances.

As for the internet costing a fortune you get unlimited data with the advance price plans which is included in your monthly line rental starting a €40 pm.

If you have any other questions let me know!
