Sky box. No subscription. FTA?

Hi, we cancelled our sky subscription and it was cut off today. I've been trying to tune in the FTA channels using the box and following the sticky but I'm just getting a "No Satellite Signal" message.

    Any help?

Turn off the box at the mains, take out the card and put it in upside down. Turn on the box at the mains.

Had you a UK or Irish Sky Sub?

Irish Sky Sub. Should it make a difference?

Turning it off and on again had no effect. Still getting "No Signal Found".

Yup was working until today when it was due to be cut off.

Unplugged it from the mains that time and still no joy.

Well there are no channels, but basically yeah. Can't access the Programme Guide either, just says "No satellite signal is being received" with the number 29 in the top right corner.

can you go into the services menu and get the signal settings (strength and Quality) ?

have you checked the cable to the dish? that it hasn't been cut

Theres 0 strength and quality on the signal and I was just out to the dish there and everything is plugged in as it was before. It was working this morning but we were due to be cut off today.

    Incredibly frustrating.

Can you try another box,the recycling centres are full of them these days
but of course you must not take anything out from them.

it would be better to try a ' known to be working' box from a 'mate' on your sat feed. using a box that isn't proved to work wouldn't prove anything. and you could try your box on the 'same mate's' satellite feed.

Agree with all that has gone before.I find ,when you get a signal again,if you put an old card in ,the box will read it.An annoying "wrong card " message will appear every few minutes, but if you then remove the card, the box will retain the memory of that card(FTV).Off course the mains has to stay on when the box is in standby,or you go back to the beginning again.Doesn't use a lot of juice in standby.
